I was having a stressful day where I was just mentally and spiritually exhausted. I first heard 'Rainy Days' on YouTube when searching for piano music with rain. In fact, it was the first result I clicked on and before 20 minutes of it even played, even though I was laying in bed completely exhausted, I managed to make my way to my desk, turn on the computer to go online and purchase it. Even though it is on Spotify and YouTube, I thought, "I have to have this in my collection." I believe an artist (Peder in this case) who can put together such a beautiful piece in such uncertain times should be paid for their work. It brought me to tears because it changes the atmosphere the moment you press play. The rain has a cleansing feel but at the same time, the piano speaks to the soul that all will be okay in the end no matter what. To me, it is that effective.
Many are under a lot of stress right now as we are in very uncertain times with this pandemic and they are under duress because they feel isolated. So many fighting, so many separations, so many tears being shed. I like that Peder edited this in such a way where there is no fade out at the end so if you wanted to, you could easily just copy and paste it in a program such as audacity and make a large file to make it run over and over again continuously seamless for as long as you would prefer without the need of a repeat function.
I chose to download the wav file to hear it uncompressed, that's how beautiful it truly is -and you can tell the difference. I am looking forward to checking out Peder's other pieces so I can see if there are any others I may really enjoy as I would purchase those too!
The only recommendation I would make would maybe be to make it available without the rain as some may prefer to enjoy it that way as well, but that's just an idea. Great album and 100% recommended. Thank you Peder.
